Real Talk Starts With a Real Connection
Hi, I’m Stephanie Mastorio, MSW, LCSW, and I believe healing starts with honesty. Therapy doesn’t have to be stiff or intimidating—it can be a real conversation, grounded in compassion, collaboration, and the belief that change is possible.
I specialize in helping adults manage anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and grief. Whether you’re navigating overwhelming emotions or trying to find your footing during a difficult season, you don’t have to do it alone.
With over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, I bring both clinical expertise and a down-to-earth, human approach. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Monmouth University and have since trained in a range of evidence-based therapies. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I’m trained and credentialed to provide psychotherapy and support people through a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns.
My approach is collaborative, empowering, and non-judgmental. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based techniques, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. Together, we’ll explore practical tools to help you cope, clarify your values, and create meaningful forward momentum.
Above all, I create a safe, affirming space where you can be real—no masks, no pressure. Just the support you need to feel seen, heard, and supported in your growth.

Asking questions is a natural (and welcome!) part of starting therapy. Whether you're brand new to this or just want to know what to expect, these FAQs are here to help you feel more informed, more comfortable, and more in control of your journey.
-
Your first session is all about getting to know you. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, go over some background information, and explore your goals. It’s a relaxed, judgment-free space — no pressure to have it all figured out. This is your time to start feeling seen, heard, and supported.
-
Sessions are typically 53 minutes long. Most clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum, but we’ll work together to find a pace that feels right for you.
-
Yes! I accept several major insurance plans, including Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, and Medicare. You can also pay privately or request a superbill if you'd like to use out-of-network benefits.
-
Therapy isn’t just for when things fall apart — it can help you grow, gain insight, set boundaries, navigate transitions, or just feel more in control of your emotions. Whether you’re processing something heavy or just want to feel more like yourself, therapy can be a powerful tool.
-
Yes — with a few legal exceptions. What you share in therapy stays between us. There are rare situations where I'm required to break confidentiality for safety reasons (like if someone is in danger), but we’ll talk more about that upfront so you know exactly what to expect.
-
Totally normal! You don’t need to have a script. Sometimes we start with a simple check-in and go from there. I’ll guide the conversation when needed — therapy is a collaboration, not a performance.
-
Telehealth therapy is just like in-person therapy — but done virtually, through a secure video platform. You can talk to your therapist from the comfort of your home, your office, or wherever feels safe and private. It’s flexible, convenient, and just as effective for building connection, gaining insight, and doing the real work. All you need is a device and a reliable internet connection.
-
Life happens! I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee, but I’ll always work with you if emergencies come up.
-
That’s totally okay — there’s no “right way” to do therapy. We’ll go at your pace, and I’ll guide you through the process. You don’t need to have all the answers or a perfectly clear reason for being here. Just showing up is a powerful first step.
-
I work with adults who are navigating life transitions, managing stress, and striving for emotional well-being. Whether you're adjusting to changes in your personal or professional life, working on boundaries, or looking for healthier ways to cope with overwhelm, this space is here to support you. My approach is flexible, compassionate, and tailored to help you gain clarity, confidence, and practical tools for lasting growth.
